Emergency Assistance – Financial
HCM can provide limited financial help to residents in the 40204 and 40205 zip codes and a portion of 40218. These funds are made available through local utilities, government grants and generous donations from our member churches and concerned citizens.
Residents in crisis may request assistance with utility bills and rent, as well as special needs such as qualifying prescription medications. To schedule an appointment or for more information, call HCM at (502) 451-3695 ext. 213. Assistance is limited and there are strict qualifications for each type of assistance:
LG&E Assistance
Clients must have a utility bill under threat of cutoff. Applicants are required to present a current “brown bill” from the utility, two pieces of mail addressed to the client, and a government-issued form of identification.
Louisville Water Company Assistance
Clients qualify if water has been shut off, the bill is past due, or a disconnection notice has been received. Applicants are required to present a current bill from the utility, two pieces of mail addressed to the client, and a government-issued form of identification.
Rent Assistance
If rent is due or past due, contact (502) 451-3695 ext. 213 to schedule an appointment.
Medications
HCM can assist with some medications on an extremely limited basis. Applicants are required to present a pharmacy prescription bill printout, two pieces of mail addressed to the client, and a government-issued form of identification. For more information, call (502) 451-3695 ext. 213.
